About the event
An emergent, work-in-progress devised show, blending elements of autobiographical storytelling and physical theatre, performed by six local women.
A journey into a collective and personal Underworld.
What gifts can be found there?
Can we allow the falling apart, both individually and collectively, of our personal and societal structures-to make space for a new, more integrated way of being?
We are inspired by the archetype of Descent and the story of Inanna, telling our individual stories as reflections of that myth. We explore the journey from distorted Yang energy - the drivenness and rigidity that leave us exhausted - into the softening and crumbling of Yin.
We long for a more integrated view. A place where above and below, light and dark, support and complement each other. Where the Descent is allowed, and the Underworld is part of the cycle: descending, then returning into the world with gifts from the depths.
