Body Stories
5-week creative and well-being group for women, part-funded.
Online Tues 4th Jan-Tues 1st Feb, 4 pm-6:30 pm

With Agata Krajewska, assisted by Rooh Star

This is a journey through the body based on the map of 5 elements of the Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each week we will explore an organ as a range of processes and functions relating to the whole bodymind.
We will look at our lives and stories through the lens of each organ, exploring our relationship to its gifts and challenges, strengthening its potential and building a conscious relationship to our body.

Our bodies carry stories. As we play them out we are revealed to each other and ourselves and our well-being is freed up. As we release the story, we are more present, available and enriched by digesting our experience.
We will let the body lead and reveal its wisdom, using the power of inquiry, movement and witnessing as a transformative container.
It’s a "work" of play and deep healing at the same time, a kind of ritual that occurs through the collective witness.
Work with presence, embodiment, improvisation, inquiry, telling and personal reflection.

Our online courses are designed to provide a real, visceral and transformative experience. The activities are engaging, playful and bonding in nature. We put great emphasis on grounding, embodiment and nervous system regulation.

Part-funded by National Lottery
Suggested donation for 5 weeks: £30-£40 (income based)

"Holding Space- Exploring the Field"
Day training for facilitators, therapists and creative space holders
Saturday 5th Feb 10:30-6 pm

Angel Hall, Bowden House n/r Totnes TQ9 7PW
With Agata Krajewska, assisted by Rooh Star

This is a day course for facilitators, therapists, creative practitioners to skill up, practice and develop. We will explore various elements of Holding Space from the embodied presence and focus on exploring the Field.
The Field here is a shared consciousness that connects us and can potentially hold and nourish us. It’s much easier to hold any group if we are sensitive to and attentive to the field.

We will experimentally inquire into:
*What is the field?
*How do we tend to and strengthen it?
*How do we read it and benefit from it?

We will also reflect on:
*Building and maintaining safety
*Nourishing the spirit of exploration
*Balancing emergence and structure
*Working with the body and the nervous system
*Play, games and spontaneity

You will be met where you are as a space holder and guided in a way that supports your existing or developing practice; covering themes of inclusive leadership and the art of stepping out with your gifts.
You will gain skills in designing workshops, holding a safe space, supporting a group process and individual unfolding.
You will be supported by the group transmission and co-regulation.

Whether you’re an experienced facilitator or an aspiring one, this day will nourish and support you. The skills we are exploring are useful for all aspects of Life- to hold space for ourselves, our relationships and communities.

This day is a good introduction to a committed fortnightly group starting later in February.

"Holding Space "

Three-part training for facilitators, therapists and creative space holders

Saturdays: 9th Oct, 30th Oct and 27th Nov

10:30-6pm

Staverton Village Hall near Totnes TQ9 6PD

With Agata Krajewska, assisted by Rooh Star

This is a three-day training for facilitators, therapists, creative practitioners and explorers of embodied presence to skill up, practice and develop.

During the training you will learn about fundamental elements of Holding Space from Embodied Presence, including:

*Building and maintaining safety

*Nourishing the spirit of exploration

*Tending and reading the field

*Balancing emergence and structure

*Working with the body and the nervous system

*Use of witnessing and reflection

*Play, games and spontaneity

*Supporting creative expression

You will be met where you are as a space holder and guided in a way that supports your existing or developing practice; covering themes of inclusive leadership and the art of stepping out with your gifts.

You will be invited to consciously explore the perspectives of participant and facilitator, learning in an experiential way and receiving benefits of being part of a group of peers.

We will use play and inquiry to reflect on how we are affected by different practices and structures, all in the context of your future service as a space holder. In this unique way of working, we emphasize strong containers and a deep permission to express at the same time.

Working with yin and yang principles of holding space we explore the polarities of going with the energy and directing it at the same time.

We will learn how to make the containers trustable and holding enough to explore the unknown and allow the unfolding.

We will explore directly, beyond what is already known in mind, welcoming newness and the actual texture of each experience. You will be supported by the group transmission and co-regulation.

This work is for facilitators and therapists but it is also for Life; to support holding space in these challenging times- for ourselves, our families and communities.

Optional individual mentoring between the sessions is available.

Places limited.

Please email Agata to apply.

Fee: £85 per day payable monthly, one week before each course date.

AWAKENING THROUGH PLAY
Day workshop for Facilitators, Creatives and Divine Fools

Saturday 24th July, 10:30am- 6pm

Staverton Village Hall near Totnes

This is a training day for facilitators, therapists, creative practitioners and explorers of embodied presence to skill up, practice and develop.

Creativity in the widest sense is our true essence. Sanskrit word Lila stands for “divine play”- all of this reality, an ever-unfolding play of Creation. When we taste that experience, we wake up and take our lives and ourselves less seriously, allowing for freedom and transformation.
Through externalizing our “crazy humanness”, we dis-identify from the holding structures, freeing up energy and emotion. Through participation without control, we become a part of the innate flow of life.
Play itself brings us to the taste of our True Nature.

In this day workshop, I will be sharing games and exercises that facilitate embodied presence and self-awareness. But more importantly, I will be sharing the principles behind the exercises that can be applied to skilful facilitation.

We will explore:
*Reading and unifying ‘the field’
*Warm-ups and games
*Conducting energy and emotion
*The power of witnessing
*Movement and embodiment practices
*Welcoming it all with compassion
*Questions that arise from the group

You will gain skills in designing workshops, holding a safe space, supporting a group process and individual unfolding.

In whatever way you hold space for yourself or others, inviting the quality of play and the joyful wisdom of the body will help you cultivate freedom, presence, creativity and power in your practice, whether that is personal or professional.

Bring Your Gifts to Life- Be the Creatrix

5-week online course for women

Wednesdays 10th March- 7th April
4pm-6:30pm

For women who long to share their gifts and their creative expression, as a way of life; who’ve tried to express their gifts before but found it was hard or just too scary; and for those who feel new visions stirring but don’t know how to move towards them.
This concentrated period of support will make a difference to those who want to be active creators of Life on Earth at this time. Sometimes they are called artists, performers, facilitators, teachers, healers, carers, mothers, activists, leaders, mystics and more.

Themes we will explore:
Life as a creative act
Aligning with your Gift/Soul purpose
The dynamic of coming forward and resting back (Yin Yang of giving your gift)
Meeting the inner critic and sabotaging patterns
Being seen and speaking out
Connecting service with joy and resourcefulness
Celebrating self and other
Being received, welcomed and valued
Clearing out the pipes for life to flow through you

Included in the course:
Five 2,5 hour sessions with teaching and personal and group exploration through creative inquiry
Individual mentoring session with Agata
Weekly tasks and mini-projects between sessions
Opportunity to practice giving your gift
Note:
We put great emphasis on grounding and embodiment as well as rest and digestion and we take breaks in the session.

The gift we have is our innate Soul-nature. It has been given to us and it’s not ours to withhold. Yet, in the giving of it every wound of “not enough” can be touched. If we engage with it, it will bring us home to our belonging; to the universal benevolence of life.

In the course we will work with resting back as a prerequisite to coming forward into the world; with being enough as a place to create from.
We will investigate conditions of creative emergence - from emptiness into form, and a human being as the channel for that amazing process. From that place we can merge our individual longing and need with that of the world, recognizing that it is crucial for each one of us to manifest our unique gift

for the good of the whole.

I am fascinated by the process of Life’s emergence to be itself, through us. One of my core gifts is to enable others to be seen, heard and received.

This course is offered at an introductory rate of £105 to a limited number of participant to allow for individual attention, so make sure you come forward in time to reserve a place.

Booking by application only.

Resourcing self through the pandemic and beyond

5-week online group:

Thurs 12th Nov 7pm-9:15pm

In these critical times of adversity, all of us are called into radical change. To steer that change is to be in touch with our individual calling, and to support that change is to be in touch with our natural resourcefulness. In this workshop we will be led by these themes, exploring and deepening our ability to have a creative and practical response to the limitations imposed by the pandemic.

Who is it for?

This workshop, funded by the National Lottery, is open to all and is targeted to support those most affected by the pandemic in terms of health, finances, isolation, recovery from loss, or deep personal struggles.

In the workshops we engage in creative ways to uncover significant life stories, be resourced by them, and process the challenging emotions from difficult experiences. Supported by a small community of like-minded men we will be writing, reflecting, moving, and validating each other’s short personal performances. No experience necessary.

"Stories of Descent"

Autobiographical Theatre for Women

Ashburton, Quaker Meeting House:

3 Tuesdays 19th Nov, 3rd Dec, 17th Dec, 2 pm-5.15 pm

Descent

Into the body

Into the lower psyche

Into stillness

Into darkness

Into the holding of the Earth

Into the Underworld where gifts are found and recovered.

Autumn and winter invite us on the journey of descent; into the dark and deeper into ourselves. The Dark that we may shy away from offers gifts of rest and transformation.

Inspired by nature's Life-Death-Life cycle we will inquire into what is disintegrating in our identities at present and how to engage with that process. We will look at our conditioning around loss and draw on mythological themes such as Inanna.

“Going down” and embracing what is found there is part a woman’s journey home. She is called to re-inhabit her body waist down and to plunge into the lower regions of her psyche where a raw power awaits, in the form of stories and emotions.

To safely embody these “taboo” parts of ourselves can bring us more energy and well-being, a sense of wholeness.

For those with previous experience in the work.

Each day stands alone: an opportunity to creatively dive into and re-vision your story from an initiatory perspective, working towards a performance.

We will focus on finding your key thread, gathering material and crafting your piece.

.

We carry so many stories inside and when they are told they get freed up and we get the medicine. It is often in challenging situations, when we might have felt victimized, that we developed our precious gifts and strengths.

By looking at our lives as a piece of art, we bring reverence to it and find the patterns that are specific to us. As we find those patterns and become the heroine's in our story, we find why we are here.

As women, we particularly need it, as we have lost some of the feminine mythology and need to rebuilt our archetypal domain.

Work with presence, embodiment, improvisation, inquiry, writing, telling and personal reflection.

Woman's Journey into the Underworld

Sat 17th- Sun18th Nov 2018, 10:30am-5pm

Dartington Village Hall

Autumn and Winter invite us on the journey of descent, into the Dark and deeper into ourselves. The Dark that we may shy away from offers gifts of rest and transformation.

In the myth of Inanna the heroine makes a descent into the underworld to unite with her “dark sister”. This “going down” and embracing what is found there is part a woman’s journey home. She is called to re-inhabit her body waist down and to plunge into the lower regions of her psyche where a raw power awaits, in the form of stories and emotions.

We carry many stories inside and when they are told they get freed up and we get the medicine. It is often in the darkest of times, when we might have felt victimized, that we developed our precious gifts and strengths.

By looking at our life as a Heroine's Journey, we bring reverence to it and find the patterns that are specific to us. As we find those patterns, we appreciate our winding path and we find why we are here.

Work with presence, embodiment, improvisation, inquiry, telling and personal reflection.

Workshop Part-funded.

No previous performance experience necessary.

Price for the whole weekend: sliding scale £60 - £75

"Your Body - Your Story"

Transformative Theatre for Women

Starts 5th of June

4 Tuesdays 2pm- 5pm

Dartington Estate, Hex, Studio 33

Our bodies remember. They carry stories. As we play them out we are revealed to each other and ourselves and our vitality is freed up. Paradoxically, as we release the story, we are more present and available, and enriched by digesting our experience.

We let the body speak, let it lead and reveal its wisdom, using the power of performance as a transformative container.

We will not only “tell our stories” but fully claim and embody all of ourselves- now, with all that brought us here. We transform the rough material of our experiences into diamonds.

It’s a "work" of play and deep healing at the same time, a kind of ritual that occurs through the collective witness.

Through it we can recognize that our story, though unique, is shared and creates a tapestry of Her-story.

This process is open and available to everyone, regardless of any experience. Many who've never stepped out before found it surprisingly available and safe.

Work with presence, embodiment, improvisation, inquiry, telling and personal reflection.

Places limited, booking essential.

£75 for 4 weeks

‘‘At some point, we must look inward for our education. We must notice what inhibits our freedom, be willing to give up all preconceptions, be truthful, and relax in order to act from lively emptiness’’ Ruth Zaporah

"Our lives are at once ordinary and mythical.” Natalie Goldberg

Stories for Change Groups 2017

Dartington

Two groups running Jan-March

Would story would you tell? The one that would change you and the ones who hear it… The one you haven’t even owned, feeling only the edges of it in your soul. You will recognize it though when it comes out of you. And the ones listening will be freed up by receiving it. They will feel welcomed in their own version of the same story.

How will you tell it? Dramatically or quietly? With words, poetry, body, sound, music? Will you bring pictures and objects?

What do you feel is worth talking about, shouting about, whispering about? What subject is begging for our attention?

Discover and bring your story for change.

Women's Workshop

Friday  20TH  May, 6.30-9.30PM

Jellyfish Productions Gallery, Buckfastleigh

Part of Buckfastleigh Storytelling Festival and inspired by the ancient story, the workshop explores themes of women's descent: into our womanly bodies, into the deeper parts of the psyche, bringing together the light and dark faces of the feminine within.

Embodying parts of us that are not necessarily "nice" but a source of great energy and wellbeing when fully felt and conducted. Acknowledging how our lower body: hips, sex and legs are a supportive and healthy place to be, that we often habitually abandon.

Expect fun, depth and nourishment.

Work with inquiry, movement and embodied expression.
